Hampton Academy is dedicated to the education and remediation of children needing alternative learning solutions or special education services. Our Curriculum includes a number of approaches to teaching and learning other than mainstream or traditional education. We rely on technology and multi-sensory experiences to help students tap into their learning potential. At Hampton Academy we focus on individual learning styles, individual strengths & weaknesses, individual levels of performance and individual needs to create an Individual Education Plan for each student. Students therefore have the ability to learn at their own pace and not feel the pressures of being left behind when a skill has not been acquired. This approach also allows students to master foundation skills that are hindering them from excelling in the mainstream. The key to Hampton Academy’s success is that we know that children perform better in environments with more teachers per student, smaller classes, a more developmentally appropriate curriculum, special needs equipment and tools and a staff with specific education degrees to teach children with special learning needs. With these key factors in mind it is our goal to ensure that each child receives all the resources they need to succeed in our school, in the mainstream (if they are returning) and in the world.

Our class sizes never exceed 10 students therefore our teachers are able to provide quality individualized hands on instruction. Each student has his or her own academic goals based on their strengths and weaknesses. We use the Ministry of Education's Curriculum as well as our own to prepare students for national exams, college life, independent functional skills or the job market after high school.
